Hello internet, Johnny here, your favorite perpetually-online singer/songwriter!

I’ve spent nearly two decades making music as a DIY indie artist—but before all that, I was a kid growing up in rural Georgia, falling in love with country music on the radio. The twang, the storytelling, the heartbreak and humor—it all got into my bones early.

Now I’m following a longtime pull back to that sound. Over the past few years, I’ve been writing songs that sit right in the pocket of Americana and alt-country—music that feels like home in a whole new way. And I’m finally ready to record them.

This is the start of a new chapter: one full of queer joy, old ghosts, dusty boots, and wide open skies. It’s a little bit tender, a little bit unhinged, and it’s the most honest version of myself I’ve ever put to tape.

In just a few weeks, I’ll head to Murfreesboro, TN to make this record with my oldest and dearest collaborators:

Bess Rogers and Chris Kuffner (who produced Say What You Mean), plus Nashville legend Ellen Angelico, and a full band of talented friends. We’ve got the songs, the dates, and the dream team—now we need the funding.

 

🐎 What’s This Album About? 🐎

Charlie Mtn. is a collection of songs written in the aftermath of quitting a “safe” life, leaving the big city, and hitting the road in an old Jeep to find myself again. It's about heartbreak, divorce, queer joy, chosen family, and driving into the sunset to see who I could become.

It’s a record built on solitude, transformation, and deep connection—with this wild weird world, with the people I’ve met, and with myself.

And now I want to share it all with you.
